Timothy R. Coffey, CPA

Tim is a shareholder and officer of Grass Coffey & Scharlau, CPA’s, PC and is a second generation CPA. Tim has been employed in public accounting for over thirty years where his experience mainly consists of income tax and financial statement preparation for small businesses, not-for-profit organizations and individuals. Tim is also the Quality Control partner for the firm; these responsibilities include overseeing all financial statement preparation services for the firm.

Tim is a former Chairman and Member of the Auditing Standards Committee of the Arizona Society of CPA’s and is the current Chairman of the Peer Review Oversight Acceptance Committee for the State Board of Accountancy. Tim has undergone specialized training to be qualified as a Peer Review Chairman under the American Institute of CPA’s Peer Review Program and is active in the conduct of Peer Reviews of other CPA firms, with a specialty designation in the audits of not-for-profit organizations and audits conducted under Governmental Auditing Standards.

Tim graduated in May, 1977 from Siena College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Tim is married, has three children and one grandchild. He is a long time member of the Capital Gateway Kiwanis Club (formerly Encanto/Skyline) which conducts many community service programs in the greater Phoenix area. Tim’s interests include fishing, golf, and bowling.
